When we thought of our film, we decided that our film was going to be based around a monster. I think that it is essential that I research into monsters that have been used in other horror films, as we have not yet decided on what our monster will be, I think that researching all different monsters will help make the decision. We could also make up our own monster, using the information I am going to find. I found that researching monster films was too vague, so I had to be a little bit more specific. As our film trailer is going to be based at night (usual convention of a horror film) I decided to research monsters who are only seen at night.
There has been a wide variety of films based on monsters. I was looking at some old fashioned monsters, but if anything they were more comical then fearful. Therefore I have decided to look at more modern monsters in films. There have been all different types of monsters and strange creatures ranging from robots to the zombies.
Thinking about our trailer I instantly thought of the monster from the horror film The Grudge. The monster is a women with white skin and black eyes. I think that this monster/creature would look fit in well because our film is based in the snow, this would explain the pale white complection.
